Apple has launched the new Apple TV 4K, which integrates Siri AI, an entirely new version of Siri powered by the next generation of Apple Intelligence. This update enhances the assistant’s capabilities, allowing it to understand personal context, access broad world knowledge, and perform more systemwide app actions. Users can now ask Siri AI specific questions about entertainment, such as which Apple TV shows won Emmy awards, and receive relevant suggestions and visual content directly from the Apple TV app.
The new Apple TV 4K also delivers faster performance compared to its predecessor. When paired with four HomePod mini 2 or HomePod (2nd generation) speakers, it unlocks the most immersive home theater surround sound setup Apple has ever offered. As a home hub, the device simplifies smart home management with Apple Intelligence-generated camera activity descriptions and summarized notifications in the Home app, along with control over accessories and scenes.
At the heart of the new Apple TV 4K is the A19 chip, which provides up to 50 percent faster CPU performance and up to 2x faster GPU performance than the previous generation. This improvement ensures greater responsiveness, faster navigation, and smoother animations. The A19 chip also includes a new dedicated AV1 decoder, enabling more efficient high-quality streaming while using less bandwidth.
Apple TV 4K is more than just a streaming device; it is positioned as a home essential that transforms the living room to reflect users’ current needs. With Apple Fitness, the living room becomes a workout studio, while Apple Arcade and the App Store’s library of games turn it into a home arcade. The device is now available for pre-order, with general availability starting on November 13.
